This isn’t a polished rental, it’s a one-of-a-kind cabin built by hand on the jungle’s edge. The layout is small and intentional: a comfortable double bed, a fold-down table for breakfast or remote work, and a kitchen with everything you actually use. The real square footage is outside, where a shaded patio and small deck open onto the canopy.

The neighborhood

You’re on a family-built street a ten-minute walk from town and fifteen from the beach. The hillside location means birdsong at sunrise, the occasional rooster, and frogs at night. It’s a real Mexican neighborhood, not a tourist zone, expect backyard chickens, friendly cats, and a slower pace.

Who this place is for

Birders, yogis, surfers, and remote workers who want nature immersion with modern reliability. Couples looking for something quieter and more authentic than Sayulita. Solo travelers who want a hammock, a view, and a hand-built space that feels like nowhere else.

Important: the climb

The cabin sits on a hillside. You’ll walk up several slate stairs to reach the front door. It’s a great daily stretch but not the right choice if you have mobility limitations or very heavy luggage. There’s no car parking on-site, bikes, mopeds, and golf carts can be accommodated; cars park on the street.

Good to know before you book

The windows are screen-free to maximize airflow, so you may share the space with the occasional gecko or insect. The outdoor space is open-concept and unfenced, blending into the hillside. We’re self-catering, no daily restocks, and San Pancho has occasional daytime construction noise that drifts in from the distance. We provide earplugs and a sound machine for sensitive sleepers.
